Designed by the architects Vilanova Artigas and Carlos Cascaldi in 1948, Londrina's fourth Bus Terminal was inaugurated in 1952. The modernist building, influenced by the principles of modern architecture rooted in Le Corbusier's ideas and by elements of the Rio School, is composed of two interconnected parts: the main building and the concourse.
The main building consists of a trapezoidal prismatic volume with a roof sloping along the east-west axis. The concourse, in turn, extends from this axis and is formed by seven vaults supported by columns, enclosing large transparent glass panels and establishing a harmonious dialogue with the reinforced concrete canopy.
In 1974, the building was designated a heritage site by the Department of Historical and Artistic Heritage of the Municipality of Londrina as the first example of modern architecture in the State of Paraná. Since 1993, it has housed the Museu de Arte de Londrina.
