It was inaugurated in 2000, in the Tancredo Neves Building, a modernist project by Oscar Niemeyer. The building previously housed the Banco do Brasil’s personnel management department since the 1980s. Today, as the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center, the space hosts exhibitions, theater, cinema, music, lectures, debates, educational workshops, and a café.
