Originally used as a residence, the property was declared of public utility in 1986 through a Presidential Decree for the establishment of the Museu da Cidade. The restoration of the building and its collection was completed in 2004.&lt;br /&gt;The museum’s collection consists of furniture, decorative objects, and sacred art pieces that represent the culture and historical context of the building.&lt;br /&gt;The museum’s façade stands out for its colorful tilework and doorways framed with lioz stone. Its L-shaped floor plan features long verandas opening onto an inner courtyard.
