Guita and José Mindlin Brasiliana Library The Brasiliana Library Guita e José Mindlin is located in the eastern wing of the Brasiliana Complex at the University of São Paulo. Inaugurated in 2013, the building was designed by Eduardo de Almeida and Rodrigo Mindlin Loeb to house the Brasiliana collection assembled by the bibliophile José Mindlin and donated to USP by him and his wife, Guita. The collection is distributed across three mezzanines. The building includes reading rooms, a permanent exhibition gallery, and work and research areas in the basement. Its architecture prioritizes the use of natural light, drawing inspiration from the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library and the Bibliothèque Sainte-Geneviève. In addition, the project received consultancy support from the Library of Congress for the development of preservation guidelines for the collection.
