São Paulo Library <p><span data-sheets-root="1">With the aim of occupying and revitalizing the site formerly occupied by the São Paulo House of Detention, one of the buildings of the new Youth Park, designed by Aflalo &amp; Gasperini Architects, houses the São Paulo Library, a project developed in 2009. The building, inaugurated in 2010, was inspired by the concept of the Santiago Public Library in Chile. Featuring a structural system composed of twenty columns and ten beams spaced every 10 meters, the building consists of a ground floor that accommodates the reception area, collection, auditorium, and reading modules. The terrace on this level is covered by a tensile structure reminiscent of “nautical tents.”</span></p>
