Inaugurated in 2013, the building was designed by Eduardo de Almeida and Rodrigo Mindlin Loeb to house the Brasiliana collection assembled by the bibliophile Jos\u00e9 Mindlin and donated to USP by him and his wife, Guita. The collection is distributed across three mezzanines.\nThe building includes reading rooms, a permanent exhibition gallery, and work and research areas in the basement. Its architecture prioritizes the use of natural light, drawing inspiration from the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library and the Biblioth\u00e8que Sainte-Genevi\u00e8ve. In addition, the project received consultancy support from the Library of Congress for the development of preservation guidelines for the collection. "}]}
