The building, designed by Joseph Pitilick and constructed between 1924 and 1925, has housed the Museu de Arte do Espírito Santo Dionísio Del Santo since 1988. Its inaugural exhibition, also a solo exhibition, featured works by the Espírito Santo-born artist after whom the museum is named, Dionísio Del Santo. The building features Eclectic-style architecture.
