Constructed between 1928 and 1930 and inaugurated in 1931, the Museu Florestal Octávio Vecchi building features Neo-Colonial architecture and houses a collection composed of wood samples, seeds, woodcut works, and other objects, as well as an oil painting illustrating the history of São Paulo, created by Helios Seelinger.
The Museu da Madeira was named in honor of Octávio Vecchi, director of the Forestry Service.
