Established in 1970, the permanent headquarters of the Museum of Image and Sound of São Paulo was installed only in 1975, on the former property of Affonso Giaffone. The building's renovation project was designed by Roberto Fasano and Dan Juan Antonio.
The Museum is affiliated with the São Paulo State Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy as a cultural center and houses a museum and archival collection that includes photographs, posters, image and sound equipment, CDs, DVDs, periodicals, and books.
