Children‘s House

Children‘s House

Inaugurated in 1955, the building was designed by architects Carlos Cascaldi and João Batista Vilanova Artigas, featuring characteristics of modernist architecture such as an open plan, pilotis, ribbon windows, brise-soleils, and a rooftop terrace, based on the rationalist principles of architect Le Corbusier.
In the 1960s, the building began to house the city’s Public Library and currently serves as the headquarters of the Secretaria Municipal da Cultura de Londrina. In 2016, the building was listed as a protected heritage site by the Municipal Government due to its cultural significance.
