Dated from 1990, the project by Paulo Zimbres and Luís Antônio Almeida Reis consists of two libraries for the Federal University of Uberlândia: one located on the Santa Mônica campus and the other on the Umuarama campus, both built in 1991. Popularly known as the “twin libraries,” the buildings share the same structural system. The Santa Mônica Central Library (MON) has three floors, features a free span, and makes use of pilotis to organize and distribute the library’s public spaces.
