Praça do Relógio was inaugurated in 1971 and is located inside the Armando Salles de Oliveira University City (CUASO), Butantã Campus of the University of São Paulo (USP). In the center of the square is the Clock Tower, a building inaugurated in 1973. Both the Square and the Tower were designed by the architect Rino Levi.
