The building, constructed in 1901, was renovated by Hippolyto Pujol Junior. This bank building, with an architectural structure in the French style, housed a branch of Banco do Brasil in 1927. Since 2001, the space has been converted into the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center (CCBB), where exhibitions, theater, cinema, music performances, lectures, debates, educational workshops, and a café are held.
